YoGuides was originally designed in 2004 as a written text to be read by teachers to their students as a segue between lessons. The purpose was to quickly relax, refocus and re-energize students to receive new information while using as little classroom time as possible. The Yoguides workbook was successfully tested and received by hundreds of teachers and offered as a professional development through the Rhode Island Department of Education. It became apparent that a recorded version could be just as effective and reach a broader audience in the workforce. With the YoGuidesCD, a desk bound professional can relax, rejuvenate and refocus at any convenient time during their normal workday.
The entire CD is just over 1 hour and includes an introduction and then 7 main categories. Each of the 7 categories are divided into 10 minute segments. Each segment is then further divided into 3-4 minute sub-segments which focus on either breathing, exercise or guided imagery. The listener can use these sub-segments together as a 10 minute session or individually as a 3 minute refresher depending on their available time.
YoGuides is an inexpensive, highly practical wellness tool that can be used daily or on an ‘as needed’ basis. It is ideal for the desk bound professional in addition to students and athletes
